Huon blues festival
January 28th 2018
Set among the vines of Home Hill Winery at Ranelagh, the Huon Blues Festival will launch with performances from contemporary blues & roots artists Diesel and Ash Grunwald. Diesel will be playing with full band, while Ash Grunwald will perform as a duo. Add to the line up are Tasmanian based musicians, the Ross Sermons Band and solo blues guitarist GB Balding.
Completing the experience will be full catering with food and refreshments provided by Home Hill and other vendors from the Huon Valley. To be enjoyed under the afternoon Summer sun on Sunday January 28. Patrons are invited to bring blankets and deck chairs.
The event is family friendly and a coach service will run a return service from Hobart. The event is rain, hail or shine. In extreme weather conditions the event will be moved to a venue in the Hobart CBD.
cygnet folk festival
12th-14th January 2018
This year will be the 36th Cygnet Folk Festival, one of Australia’s most iconic folk music festivals. Very highly regarded by musicians and festival-goers from all over Australia and overseas, competition to come to Cygnet is at an all time high amongst performers, and last year we had a record number of applications! The Festival is a showcase of eclectic music genres featuring both local and international talent, dance, poetry, masterclasses, film, kids' entertainment, food, wine, art and local handicrafts all set in the breathtaking scenery of Tasmania's Huon Valley.
